The poem “To converse with the greats” by Vera Pavlova is a very interesting and unique piece in my opinion. The poem is simple and short with only eight lines. It starts with the line “To converse with the greats” and the end was very open-ended. It seemed like that poet didn’t finish their thoughts and left the readers curious and confused. It might be that Vera Pavlova did this so the readers are able to interpret the message with their own imagination. Despite it seemingly being incomplete, what I got from reading the poem is that in order to understand, one has to first experience. However, poetry is written so that everyone can interpret it on their own. Not everyone gets the same message from the same poem, one might be different from the other.
